Online Check-in Guide: When and How to Check In

Online check-in lets you register for your flight and get your boarding pass on your phone without queuing at the airport desk. Here is how it works and what to watch out for.

When can I check in?

With most airlines, online check-in opens 24 to 72 hours before the flight and closes shortly before departure. Times vary by airline and between domestic and international flights; the airline’s website has the exact times.

Step by step

1. Go to the airline’s website or app. The confirmation e-mail for a ticket bought on Kolay Seyahat includes the operating airline’s check-in link.
2. Enter your PNR and surname. You will find the PNR on your e-ticket or on our booking lookup page.
3. Check the passenger details. International flights may ask for passport details; enter them exactly as they appear in the passport.
4. Choose your seat. Some fares charge for seat selection; otherwise a free seat is assigned at check-in.
5. Get your boarding pass. Download it to your phone, add it to your wallet app or print it.

If you have checked baggage

Even after checking in online, you must drop checked baggage at the airport’s bag drop desk before the airline’s bag drop deadline. With cabin baggage only, you can go straight to security.

When online check-in is not possible

• Unaccompanied minors, passengers needing special assistance, or travelling with a pet,
• Some international flights where visas or documents must be checked at the desk,
• Connections on separate tickets with different airlines.

In these cases, arrive earlier and check in at the desk.

When should I get to the airport?

Even with online check-in, leave time for security and passport control. Airlines generally recommend arriving at least one to two hours before domestic flights and two to three hours before international flights, and more at busy times.
